A source of nutrition for predatory mirid bugs
Ephestia kuehniella is a small moth belonging to the family of the Pyralidae. The wingspan of this grey moth measures about 2 cm.
The caterpillars can be found in all kinds of flour products.
The sterilized eggs of Ephestia kuehniella are a perfect alternative source of nutrition for mirid bugs.
When predatory mirid bugs are present in large quantities, they're an excellent opponent of pest prey. A disadvantage of these predatory mirid bugs however, is that they build their population very slowly, especially when there are no sources of nutrition, like whitefly or red spider mite.
Nutrimac is delivered in a very handy 30 ml PE-bottle. These bottles contain 10 gr of Ephestia kuehniella eggs, mixed with moisture-regulating orange carrier. Nutrimac is very easy to measure and apply.
The greenhouse whitefly (Trialeurodes vaporariorum) is a typical greenhouse pest that affects many crops.
