The entomopathogenic nematode Steinernema carpocapsae is very effective against the larvae of the palm borer. For efficient control, spray the beneficial nematode directly into the crown of the palm tree and onto the stem.

(2)for phoenix spp.
(3)for smaller palm trees (e.g. Trachycarpus spp., Chamaerops spp., etc.)
The red palm weevil has spread to a large part of the Middle East and almost the whole Mediterranean area. It causes severe damage to certain palm tree species, such as Phoenix.
For the detection and capture of adult red palm weevils in traps, we offer two kinds of pheromones:
- A standard pheromone:
The red palm weevil is also attracted by the smell of palm tissue.
To intensify the effect of the pheromone, pieces of palm tissue can be added to the trap.
- A pheromone with synergistic effect:
With this kind of pheromone it is unnecessary to add palm tissue to the traps.
Recommended number of traps:
Affected areas:
- 1 trap/2.500 m²
- 1 trap every 100-200 running meters on avenues
Non-affected areas:
- 1 trap/3 ha
